Laura and Dave were married on a stunning, hot and sunny day back in June. They exchanged their vows in the beautiful Our Lady of Assumption church in Brentwood Bay and then we adventured off to Sidney for some photos by the ocean. Highlights included stopping at the corner store for some cool beverages before continuing our trek through the town towards the shore with many a passerby stopping to say their congratulations!
Laura is a fellow horse lover and Sarah at Kildara Farms kindly allowed us to borrow her two horses, Kadis and Cressa, to model for a few photos during the portrait time. The horses were on their best behaviour (I was thinking of Laura’s stunning white dress and how it would be nice to keep it white, which is always a challenge when being around horses!)
The day wrapped up with a medley of pies served for dessert out in the lush front garden followed by a sunset first dance in front of the wedding barn.
One of my favourite details from their wedding is that Laura hand wrote with her beautiful calligraphy all the wedding invitations and signs used on the wedding day! After the wedding she and Dave kindly gifted me the supplies needed to try out calligraphy (they remembered I’d commented on how much I’d like to learn calligraphy when we did their engagement photos!) so stay tuned, I’m not sure my calligraphy will ever look as classy as Laura’s but I’m excited to give it a try!
Here are some of the highlights from their special day. Enjoy!
