I’ve really struggled with how to sum up the year 2020. A year of both blessings and challenges for us and so many others across the whole world. For my family, it brought the birth of our daughter, River, and all the joys and difficulties that come with having a newborn in the house, whether that’s in the middle of a pandemic or not.
And while my business had its quiet moments due to the lockdown, it was still, thankfully, a year filled with photography for me, both personal and client work. Having this creative outlet was more important than ever in 2020. Despite many postponements due to the pandemic, I was able to be a part of a few beautiful, intimate weddings. As many in the wedding industry have continued to say over the last year, love isn’t cancelled, and this feeling was carried through in all my sessions this year, not just the weddings. From puppy, equestrian and family to maternity, engagement and headshots, all different types of love were represented. Thank you to each and every one of my clients who have continued to support my small business through this time—I appreciate you all so much!
Below are a few photos from the past year, from all genres, and in no special order. I’ll have a separate post of River coming up since it goes without saying that she was the main subject of my personal work this year and while I did (mostly) complete a 365 personal photo project (a photo a day for the year) I was terrible at keeping up with posting them! Some of those photos appear here and many will be in the next blog post.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy year ahead.
