Charlotte and Travis are two of my good friends and for this wedding I played two special roles: Bridesmaid to Charlotte and their photographer. Bridesmaidographer. The fabulous Emma Palm handled all the photography for when I was participating in the ceremony and she did an incredible job!
Charlotte also has leased my horse Zappa for many years, and since they were getting married at Kildara Farms, Zappa’s old home, we decided he had to be a part of the wedding. We trailered Zappa out the night before the wedding and he had a sleepover with his old barn mates before the big day. After the ceremony in the garden, we pulled Zappa out for his photo op and boy did he have something to say about that! He didn’t like being taken away from his pony girlfriend so he proceeded to neigh as loudly as he possibly could while still behaving himself and standing still for the photos. It was hard not to laugh at his antics and he carried on trumpeting his opinion on things until we led him back to the barn.
Travis and Charlotte opted to have their dinner reception held under a beautiful big white tent in one of the lower farm fields and then dancing and dessert was held in the main wedding barn on the property. The couple had prepared a choreographed first dance they’d been working on for a couple months and it was perfect. The night continued with dancing in the main barn and we snuck out for a few more photos in the garden at sunset.
Congratulations Charlotte and Travis! And thank you for having me as a part of your special day in more ways than one!
